"Ah, what beautiful weather today." Lord Katsuhito observed, sweeping the
usual steps of the shrine, gazing off into the countryside. Today had been
quite peaceful, which had begun to become normal for the past few months.
Breathing more of the crisp, fall weather air, he finishes his morning
routine and begins to walk back to the house.
An hour later...
"AHH!" Tenchi jumps clear over a couch in his living room and hides behind
it as a shield. With an eerie silence coming over the house, Tenchi looks
above the couch. BOOM! A wall goes down, two girls come crashing through
and on the living room floor, fighting each other.
"You little-" one began, with the other unintentionally finishing off the
other's sentence.
"-spawn from hell!" The most anyone could see is a blue of cyan and purple
with the occasional arm and leg with two people fighting in their own little
cloud.
Tenchi is hiding behind the couch, head to the ground and his arms covering
his head, in case anything was to fall or explode. The two women break off
form their little fight, and stand apart from each other, catching their
breath.
"Why do you always have to be the heathen that you are?!" The purple headed
one, Ayeka, yelled at her with a vein of anger pumping furiously on her
forehead. The cyan haired woman just sneered at her. "Why do you have to
be a total idiot who's always in my way?!" She yells back, steamed in anger.
Tenchi slowly looks over the couch at the two arguing.
"Come on, girls...please don't fight again. AH!" He ducks down from a
deflected energy beam, which hits the kitchen ceiling and decimates it.
Ayeka lowers her shield down, and stares at Ryoko, completely oblivious to
the danger Tenchi and the whole house were in.
"I swear it, Ryoko, you've gone too far this time! I'm tired of always
having to deal with you and your antics!"
"I'm tired of you and your innocent act, Princess." Seeing the fight
escalating once again, Tenchi jumps above from the couch and lands in the
middle of the two. Looking at each of them seriously, the two snap back
from their own little world.
"Ayeka..Ryoko..Please, just stop fighting, the whole house is in shambles
because of you two! And this isn't the first time!"
"Myaa!" Ryo-oki cries in agreement with Tenchi, who had been hiding under a
pillow the entire time. Tenchi sighs as the two begin to apologize to him,
blaming the other that it was her fault. You two are hopeless when it comes
to simple fights like this.... Tenchi thinks, as is about to say something
else when he sees Washu’s door to her lab appear, with her walking out of
it.
"What's all the commotion? Sounds like a particle accelerator with a
monkey wrench thrown into it." Washu looks around and sees the destruction,
and then looks over at the scene in the living room. She instantly knows
what happens, rolls her eyes, and goes back into her lab continuing her
research, which had been interrupted.
“Lord Tenchi...I’m very sorry, I just..” Ayeka tried to explain her
actions, looking ashamed of herself. "Tenchi, I didn't do anything,
honest!" Tenchi looks between the two, and just sighs and walks out of the
house, needing to get away from this event. The two just blankly stare at
the door where he left from, and then looked at each other and blinked.
Later on, Tenchi had finally survived the horrible morning routine of Ayeka
and Ryoko, and found some peace nearby the Masaki shrine. Sitting down on
the stairs, he breathed in and out, relaxing for once. "They just don't
seem to get it, really wish they could just stop fighting..." he thinks
aloud, and looks up at the sky, letting his mind drift. Studying the sky,
everything looked so normal, which was a factor in Tenchi's life that was no
longer apparent. Well, it seemed normal to him now, but if you were anyone
else, how strange his life was. Instead of something exciting happening to
him, like finding out your a Prince of a planet called Jurai and having
beautiful women stay at your house, he just wanted sometimes his regular
life before he had released Ryoko. Where he had to worry about school and
his shrine duties at home; such a simple life it was.
To be completely normal for a while...I guess it would be nice, I don't
know. What Tenchi didn't know that his life would have a sense of normalcy,
and he certainly didn't know how the journey towards that long era of
normalcy would start. Certainly it wouldn't be tomorrow, would it ?
That daughter of mine.... Washu had been in her lab since this morning,
without anything to eat or drink. Usually when this happened for more than
a week, she was on to something big, and this was such a case. It had been
actually 2 weeks of barley anything to eat; however, she did resurface up to
the Masaki household occasionally to see what was going on with everyone.
She types feverishly at her holo-keyboard, with screens popping up all
around her, each displaying numerous values and data of all sorts. This was
her world, her lab; she had complete control over basically anything and
everything in it.
"Hmm, if only I could figure out what this is..." she mumbled, staring at
one of the closer screens right in front of her. There's been a lot of
energy activity on Earth lately, more than the occasional criminal from
space. It's probably nothing, but this energy has a specific signature and
I can't seem to decipher it, very weird. The only instance when this could
happen is either when A. She made whatever the thing was with the energy
signature, or B. Someone else's methods rivals her and made whatever it is
on earth making that energy signature.
"It's probably nothing.." She yawns a little. "Nothing the Greatest
Scientific Genius can't handle!" She smiles in triumph, which only gets her
to work harder on whatever that was.
Oddly, Sasami had been in her bed all day. Ayeka and Tenchi have been
taking care of her, she had come up with what seemed an out-of-the-blue case
of the flu. Sneezing and coughing, and tossing and turning in her bed, she
groans a little in pain. Her face whish was usually bright and cheery was
now a little pale and weary. "Tenchi..." she cried out in her half-asleep,
half-awake state. More bad dreams...they had become present and at times
common since they had defeated Kagato. The cause of Sasami’s bad dreams
were due to the visions of Tsunami, the first Jurian tree that had
assimilated with Sasami when she was a small child. Outside the window,
Tsunami floated, with her transparent body keeping watch over Sasami.
"I'm apologize Sasami..." she whispers to herself, looking down in guilt.
Tsunami, along with Lord Katsuhito, has felt that something has happened.
Though, she couldn't feel any evil or good from it, it was a rare sense
of..something neutral. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, even as one
of the Three great goddesses. Her thoughts were interrupted when she sees
Sasami coughing horribly in her sleep. Tsunami's face was again saddened.
"You'll feel better in the morning, I promise." Reaching down to Sasami,
Tsunami touches her forehead gently with her fingertip, and releases a small
wave of relaxing energy into Sasami's body. With that, Tsunami fades
slowly away, with Tenchi coming into check up on Sasami before he goes to
bed. He looks out the window, feeling a presence. He doesn't see one and
shrugs, closing the door after seeing Sasami was okay.
The next day was a dark, gray and rainy day. No school had been declared
for no apparent reason, usually teachers didn't take so much time to get
report cards done. Due to the weather, Tenchi couldn't really do any
outside chores today, such as sweeping the shrine or tending to the carrot
fields. His Dad, Noboyuki, left for work a little late, and Lord Katsuhito
had been meditating for hours at the shrine.
Sitting on the couch in the living room, Tenchi looks up at the ceiling,
slightly bored. He always spaced out like this, even though he had his
homework in his lap to keep him occupied.
"Grandpa said he felt like something was wrong..." Tenchi's mind drifted,
hoping nothing seriously bad would come form his grandpa's intuition.
"Ah, I bet it's nothing to worry about.." Tenchi felt a sense of oddness
around him. The usual two weren't bickering, Sasami wasn't cooking or
cleaning, and for once Mihoshi and Kiyone hadn't spent the night over here
like they usually do. Tenchi had checked up on Ryoko and Ayeka beforehand,
and found them sleeping, Ayeka in her bedroom and Ryoko floating above
Tenchi's own bed. Sasami was still up though, though probably half-asleep
and in bed. She developed a nasty flu the two days ago and it was still
running it's course through out her body. Tenchi would always check up on
her though, and tend to her sickness. He didn't;t mind at all, since he
felt so obligated to do everything he could for a young girl who did most of
the cooking and cleaning by herself.
"Guess the rainy weather makes us all sleepy, eh?" Tenchi lays back a
little more, and let's his eyes drop down a little. Slowly, he too falls
to the rains spell, and in time falls asleep. The rain continues on to drop
and patter on the house, with a gentle breeze picking up and swaying the
rain.
Meanwhile, past the nearby woods of the Masaki House, a white VW Beetle
slows down in the drenched, dirt road, that seemed to lead to nowhere. It
was one of the new models, as well it looked like it was newly purchased,
with the temporary license plate on the back proving indeed it was. It was
dark, the usual star-lit night hidden being a veil of darkness and
invisible water droplets. The driver side car door opens immediately when
it stops, with a tall figure stepping out. From the shape of the figure, it
was obviously a woman, who turned around and saw exactly what she had been
searching for.
"See? It's here, just like I knew it would be." The woman playfully taunts
to at first no one, when the front passenger seat opens up, with a another
tall figure stepping out. This figure was slightly taller, and male shaped.
"Wow, it's um...great o.o;" He walked up from the vehicle and could barley
made out the shape of the house in front of him. "Kind of small ?"
"Don't be like that. Trust me, this is the last place he'd look for us
now." The woman figure walked around the car, and stood beside him.
"I guess your right.."
"Well, hey, it was better than that apartment we saw in the city."
"Oh yeah, definatley. " He looked all around and nodded his head, coming to
terms with the appearance of the house. He thought it wasn't so bad after
all.
"Well, we have a lot to do tomorrow. Let's go catch some z's." The woman
figure looked to her friend, who nodded in agreement.
Afterwards-
Phew, the first chapter done ^_^. I hope you found it
a little interesting, cause the story moves more the next chapter, which I
plan to be considerably bigger than this. I'm new at this fan-fic
